I am a professional web developer / designer. I like your site, however there are a few things that are kind of off. When you design for the web, try to think not only about how cool it might look but about the psychology of the users who are viewing it. Something that got me right off the bat was the large black square that was empty. When I moused over the images on the right, I expected something to happen, and even though I knew they were links It took a few seconds to connet, that they weren't just rollover graphics, but links to other sections of the site. Other than that I think you have something really nice going on, the diagonal stripped background is nice, a little overdone, but you have implemented it well. Good luck.
