Profiting from your Small Business Development Center - David Fisher

![]() When I first discovered the Small Business Development Center on Maui and met David Fisher, I thought I was in marketing heaven. Here was a brilliant business executive living in my back yard, who was willing to make himself available to help me get a business loan, market my service, find investors, connect me with potential customers and much, much more. And best of all ... his service was free! I'm sure you have a Small Business Development Center (SBDC) in or near your community. And in my humble opinion, they are the most helpful and overlooked business resources on the planet. That is why I want you to run, not walk, to your nearest SBDC and find your David Fisher. Aloha Roxie! I look forward to meeting you. As you can imagine we got a lot of people visiting Maui curious about doing a business here. Given our scare resource (and the requirements of the SBA which funds us) we ask people to complete a Request for Counseling form (the official requirement) and on Maui we have people complete a short questionnaire to help both you and me prepare, and in the case what you are looking for is not what we can provide, to make a referral.
All this is at Untitled Document and there is more info there including economic reports, demographics, local resources, etc. There is also more phone, fax, and U.S. mail contact info at the above website including a map on how to get to our office. I didn't realize you had answered my inquiry. I have been so busy with everything that you slipped my mind. However, when I was on Maui I did attend a workshop on How to Do Business in Maui. The workshop was on a subject I already knew, but it was ok, I learned some things. I did a lot of research before I went, and I did a lot of research while I was there - in fact, I was in Maui for eight days and didn't even get to swim in the ocean.
