As a student of likeability, I'm fascinated with the role first impressions play on how people are perceived and subsequently treated. After speaking with Ann Demarais, the author of First Impressions: What You Don't Know About How Other See You, I'm more persuaded than ever of the power of first impressions.

The thing I enjoyed most about Ann's book and our time together on the show was her scientific understanding of the impact of a good and/or a bad first impression.
