I am looking to release a PR for my small business. We just partnered with another entity - and I think its a newsworthy enough event that I would like to let the world know
I do not know alot about the "ins and outs" of writing or distributing a PR but from the little I have gathered have decided to distribute the PR via PRNewswire Anybody know any freelance writers that can help write affordable PR's ? Alternatively, I would take a stab at writing a PR if some of you can give me some tips. Considering that PRNewswire charge about $750 for a Press Release - I want to make sure the PR is written properly Advice ? |

There are a few places I would recommend searching for freelance writers. Elance.com and Guru.com are good places to start as well as a few members here at RecognizedExpert.com. Just be sure to view some "Past Work" before you choose someone.
$750 seems a bit expensive, but I can't say I've ever used PRNewswire before so I'm not sure of the "extra" services they may offer. (Would love to hear some feedback though about the service) I've heard good things about PR.com and prweb.com (though I'm told pr.com is more effective for links) As for writing a press release, Jerome K posted a great read here. He's one of our media experts that may be a helpful contact. Joel Roberts also has a great interview that you may want to listen to. |

There is a very good press release site that I actually found reading a forum here. They give the same service as all the others and even write it for you. The company which josh Sommers should have recommended is PRunderground.com. I have done 3 press releases with them as of this writing at it only cost me $69.00. They even show you how to write one and give away the secret all the other press release companies wont tell you. Their customer service is great. When you submit a press release they actually give you a direct line to a member of their team. You can ask them any question you like. I spoke to a gentleman named Alex and I have to tell you he saved me $40.00 on my first release by guiding me and showing me how to write it myself. All the other companies just try to get as much money out of you as they can. beware of those so called popular companies. I spent too much with them and rthe results were just ok. Word of advice for Josh Sommers, If you want to give advice on a press release service I suggest you look at prunderground instead of the other money makers. It looks like this site has an affiliation with prweb and pr.com.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us. I assume that you've tried both of the services Josh has recommended. Has he done something to offend you? Your tone sounds a little harsh for someone who is trying to help.

I apologize I dd not mean to come off like that. You guys actually helped me. I had gone to many forums and discussions looking for a reasonable press release company. It seemed that everyone was on the band wagon about PRweb. I used their service once and spent over $350.00. Being new to sending press releases I felt that was a great price. Then I stumbled onto your site. I started reading a forum you had going. In one of the forums there was a reply by a Mr Wallace. I took his suggestion and contacted prunderground. `Honestly they are really good. They even did my first release for nothing because I told them I will be doing one a week. I just did not understand if you had someone asking on this thread about a reasonably priced press release company would they even recommend Prweb. Understandably with todays economy if price were not an issue people would not care. It is like going to two banks, one has a much higher interest rate and higher checking fees, the other gives the same service with lower interest rate and no fees. Which would you recommend. I think people should help each other as much as they can especially when it comes to saving money. I apologize again if I came out harsh that was not my intention. I was just trying to make a point.

No offense taken
(One of the reasons I love the smiley faces. Yet another way to add tone to text. )Can you send me a link to one of the PR's once they are published? I would love to see PRUnderground's distribution model. |

Hi nellynel518:
Thank you. The last thing I wanted to do was offend you. Your experience with PRunderground and other PR sites is very valuable to the community. I'm looking forward to reading more about what you would suggest to the readers of this forum before they spend money on a Digital Press Release. If you get a chance, will you please share some of the specific PR tips you learned from them? Thank you.
