How to write, optimize and distribute effective press releases
1. In order to write a press release you must have an item that is newsworthy. Perhaps you're opening a new pizza parlor selling vegan pizzas. This is the first and only such pizza parlor in your community. This makes this a newsworhy item. So you want to write a press release.
2. The press release should be on company stationary with the company logo. 3. The press release should contain place and date of origin of press release and the date of "for release" to the press. 4. Note: The audience for the press release is the press or the media. That is, you are addressing the press release to journalists at newspapers, magazines, TV and radio-representatives of the media. This is not a statement necessarily for the general reading public, although if the press publishing the press release the general reading public gets to read the press release. This is a statement for the press, the media. Therefore, again, it must be interesting to the press and newsworthy. And like other writing, the press release should "hook the reader." What is your lead? 5. The statement must be of interest to the press. You must have accurate and up-to-date information. 6. The length of the press release should be from one to two pages but not longer. 7. The press release should contact an introduction, a middle, and a resolution. 8.
