Default Newsletter Software

I just received the first newsletter from Recognized Expert and I thought it was great. What software are you using at Recognized Expert to create and send out your newsletters?

Hi Bart:
We use software by Interspire called SendStudio. This is the first newsletter we sent to our members using it. The newsletter templates are simple and easy to use. I'll keep you informed as we learn more about it.

How did you decide on Send Studio? Have you looked at other programs?

We used AWeber on some of our other sites and we liked it. The reason we decided to use Send Studio for Recognized Expert had to do with the cost and the size of our list. Our membership is growing so rapidly that we found it much less expensive to own the software rather than pay a monthly fee to have it hosted.

I would recommend Send Studio if you have access to a technical wizard like Josh, otherwise it can be complicated and expensive if you don't know what you're doing.

We purchased the software for about three hundred dollars and we host it on our server. Again, you must have someone who knows what they're doing if you go the Send Studio route.

If I had a list of under 500 names I would use one of the following services.
  • AWeber
  • Constant Contact
  • iContact
These are all good services and they have very good reputations in the industry. When your list starts to grow, then I would consider investing in Send Studio and someone to install if for you.

Quick note about any hosted email software (like email marketer, or any software that sends email from your website). Most web hosts have a maximum "Per Hour" outgoing email quota. They usually set it REALLY low to prevent spam (usually 50 or lower per hour)

Call your website host and ask them to increase quota as high as they allow. You can usually expect to be allowed to send 500 emails per hour without having to pay for a dedicated email server.

I wish I would have known that before I got started with email marketing.
