Hello! I'm trying to optimize my website for different cities. I have a main landing page and I'm working on subpages for different cities. Is this the best way to do this? The problem is: we were on page 1 or 2 for our local city when I had our site optimized just for that city, but now we've dropped off the planet since I changed it.

I also want to incorporate article marketing with each article targeted to one of our appropriate internal/subpages. Will that help page rank also? Can you do article marketing with localized keywords?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Yes, you do want to optimize different pages for different cities. Make sure the content isn't so similar that the search engines are going to view them as duplicate content. If you do, most of them will go in the supplemental index.

The other thing you may want to consider is Geo Targeted based bidding within Google Adwords... Then you can track your success based upon your landing page stats within your analytics software.
