submitted a xml sitemap to google and it has now come back with 302 errors even though there isn't any re-directs on the site? I 'm i mis-understanding 302 errors or can anyone offer an explaination?
google said the the certain pages had a 302 error but if i click on the link it seems to work fine? i've check many 302 error stuff through google but nothing seems to fix it any thoughts? |

Returning a 302 status generally is not a good thing.
301 = Page is being redirected and content has been permanently moved. 302 = Page is being redirected and content is temporarily moved. The URL's in your sitemap should return a HTTP 200 response. 301 or 302 responses mean that your sitemap links are being redirected, and this is generally not a good thing for XML Sitemaps. Link to the 'final home' of your content, not the redirect links. If you're using firefox you can inspect your headers and HTTP responses using https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/fir...-http-headers/ |
