Default Stolen content

Hi,

i have submitted my articles to one directory.

I have noticed that after 2 days my article content had been copied and pastred on new websites.

Is this going to affect my rankings? Is Google going to recognize that i submitted content before the person who stole it, or is it going to rank badly both....?

Thanks

LorettaG

Hi Loretta:
Please send me the link to your original article and to the stolen article and I will let you know if this is a good thing or if it's going to cause you a problem.
Aloha, Bob

Hi LorettaG:
Good news and bad news. To start, Yes, your content was stolen from Flixia. This does happen and it does happen a lot ... however, it's not such a big issue that I would stop adding my content to ezinearticles and other directories. My best advice (from someone who has had hundreds of articles stolen) is "let it go." Really, please don't give it another thought. Not only is there very little you can do about it, but it really won't harm your ranking.

The way to see if it's a problem is to do a Google search for your article title using quotes "how to research family tree" and see which article shows up first. If it shows up on ezinearticles or on your own site, no problem. This is where most people go to read the articles anyway ... not the sites that cheat and steal your material.

The second thing I would like to suggest would be to change your author block a little. Here's what I would do differently ... but only if you plan to distribute your articles on sites other than ezinearticles. The reason for this is that some sites will strip out your anchor text links not allowing readers to go to your site. That is why I always add the http link to my author block.

You also know not to end an http link with a period don't you? if you do it will render the link unclickable.

And, I would not link back to the same article on my site as the article people just read on ezinearticles. Send them to your landing page or to a tips page, but not to the same article on your site.

Bottom line: Do not worry about people stealing your content. If you do, you will eventually come full circle just like me and come to the same conclusion after a lot of grief and anger. Just Say No!

And finally, I created a set of 12 article marketing videos you may enjoy. They're a few years old but the concepts are solid. check them out when you get a chance. They're free.

Hi Bob,

Thanks for this great reply..

i am not 100% sure i understood what you mean with this:

'The second thing I would like to suggest would be to change your author block a little. Here's what I would do differently ... but only if you plan to distribute your articles on sites other than ezinearticles. The reason for this is that some sites will strip out your anchor text links not allowing readers to go to your site. That is why I always add the http link to my author block.'

you suggested afterwards a author box which is identical to the one i have in the article...

And about the article pointing to the same type of article, this is a strategy that i learnt and i am following in niche profit classroom.

Thanks again

LorettaG
