This is my first posting to Internet Marketing For Professionals. I was hoping to find some answers to why I do not have more writers posting to my new article directory. I know my PR is low (working on back links) but how do you attract more writers? Below is some information on my site that I have been submitting as a press release. I know we are all busy building our sites but could you please comment on how I could find more writers.

IMHO - While indeed iSnare will distribute direct to an Article Directory, my experience has been the quality of articles are WAY below par. Ranging from almost acceptable to terrible is what I found over a period of 90.

I know nothing about DistributeYourArticles.com and I will have to check it out. Thanks for that Bob.

My current Article Directory has about 19,000 Articles from around 3,500 Authors.

I switched to ArticleMarketer.com which has become Content Crooner - The Evolution of Article Marketing The quality of articles being auto-fed into my Article Directory and the quality of the articles went WAY up.

Now I'm not saying the articles they deliver are literary works of art, but they certainly aren't the atrocious "murder the English language" and blatant affiliate ad messes that I was getting from iSnare.

Now is my Article Directory perfect? Far from it. I need to do a considerable amount of maintenance there for sure. Cleaning out a lot of that 90 days worth of iSnare junk is at the top of the list. And yes I know I need to get it monetized properly. But I'm so busy developing sites for local clients, I simply haven't had the time.

One thing Paul should keep in mind though; if he goes with an article distributor like Content Crooner, after he get his feeds installed, it can take anywhere from a week to 5 or 6 weeks before they start uploading to his directory. Be patient.

Second thing Paul might consider: If he is even doing a modest amount of site promotion for his directory, after his distributor gets around 2,000 articles pumped into his directory, he will start constantly getting actual new author sign ups daily.

Of the 3,500 authors in my directory, a little over 1,000 are new author sign ups that did NOT come through "Article Marketer / Content Crooner".

(Authors and their articles that are delivered to your directory from an article distributor like Content Crooner are auto-approved and you don't get an opportunity to delete or reject their articles. At least that is the way it works with ArticleFriendly.com Article Directory software.

However, using Content Crooner, when you sign up for their distribution service you can pick the categories you want articles for if you are doing a niche directory.

We put a lot of effort into making sure that we help our authors produce articles that are good, solid, informative content and will be acceptable to the article directories we submit them to. We have a two-tiered review process that includes both computer automation and a team of article coaches who make sure any article is ready for distribution before we send it out of directories.

Well as someone that has a top article directory and one that offers more than any other one ... I can tell you this ... You want quality article marketers to use your directory then you need to use article marketing to market your directory.

Also you really need to offer authors something besides the normal stuff, fact is you can post an article anyplace but if you offer exclusive things that authors are only able to get from you then you will attract quality authors.

One of the major issues with many article directories is they have far too many ads on them as they follow the crowd... Many of these article directories will be out of business within a year because the model they follow is not sound.
