Hi I am Mary Bosveld aka the Supergranny. I see a lot of skilled people here & I have a LOT to learn....so I guess I am in the right place.
I am quite a latecomer to computing, but I have managed to develop a certain amount of skills in graphic arts. Then about a year ago, I slowly developed a real interest in videoing & video editing. That was a real challenge & a big learning curve for me, because I had absolutely NO ONE to help me. Anyway, I now have quite a thriving Youtube Chanel. I have a couple of blogs that leave a lot to be desired. I have just discovered Bob's Blogger Video Lessons & I have been working my way through them ... I have found these VERY useful thank you.. and that's how I happened to stumble onto this site... & here I am.
I live WAAAY Down Under in the land of TAZ (Warner Bros 'loveable' Tasmania Devil cartoon character) - Tasmania, Australia. I have 18 grandchildren, 6 who live in MI, USA, so I get to visit the USA reasonably often. I wish everyone a Happy New Year for 2010

Hi my Name is Nilda. I'm from Puerto Rico and I want to write books that will become best sellers...I have lots to write about. I have 9 kids, all grown and 9 grandkids. I've done a lot of traveling...last July I visited Japan. I studied theater and have written many puppet shows performed by teens. I want to write and like Suppergranny get into blogging and videoing. Happy New Year, may all the creative juices flow like a flood in 2010! I'd include a photo if I only knew how!

I too am working on a book, one on Hospice. The web has made it possible for numerous writers to become best sellers without going through the traditional booksellers.

It starts with self promotion. This is the place to get that start.

I used to teach a class at the local college called Build a Successful Internet Based Business. The average age of people around the world taking this class was 40 - 60. Women tended to be 45-50 and men tended to be 50-55. The classes are usually 50-50 men and women. The youngest was 20 and, here is the best part...
the oldest was 80.

Soooo, your not alone.

As a nurse, I have seen too many times people retire and then die within 6 months. I cannot tell you how many people were admitted within days of their retirement, only to decline and soon to be gone.

This gives rise to a theory. If we keep working all of our lives, we can live longer.

Of course, working is relative.

Another saying bears this out...The average person dies at 24 and it is not until 74 that they are buried. This is because the average person stops thinking at 24 and in effect, dies mentally. It is not until they are 74 that the death of the body catches up with the mind.

So, making such a significant career change seems to indicate that you are planning to live forever. I guess, so far, so good.

PS. I think it is sooo cool that you are taking this journey. When your ready, when your site is close to reaching significant traffic, you might consider a press release as you would make a great story. We need good news, at least once and a while.
