Hi, I am new into seminar presentaion. I have to develop a hafl a day seminar and conduct it. I have no experience. I am looking for information and came across your forum. I also came through yesterday a website. It seems interesting as they speak of presentation skills and power point use at the same time. Exactly what I need but I question if what they provide is enough.. anyone has experience with them ?
the website is www.powerpoint-presentation-power.com thank you in advance for your reply. |

I haven't got any experience with that website, but you could try learning from watching some top speakers - such as Gerry Robinson or Muhammad Yunus - both of which are very successful at public speaking. Good luck!

Well, using visual aids in your presentation is a great way to deliver it. But make sure your power point serves as an aid to your presentation rather than a distraction.
Make the font clearer -- this is the usual first mistake presenter do when making their visual aids. |

There's a ton of good stuff on my site about using powerpoint.
I've had stacks of experience as a Business Coach and Trainer at running half day, one day and two day seminars so if you want to ask me any questions just Contact Me through the site. Happy to help! |

Ok, so you have to develop and conduct a half-day seminar. Before you beign focusing on Powerpoint or any other tool, you have to design the seminar. So, the first thing is to find out what your audience wants. Perform an Audience Analysis.
A nalysis – Who are they? How many will be there? U nderstanding – What is their knowledge of the subject? D emographics – What is their age, sex, educational background? I nterest – Why are they there? Who asked them to be there? E nvironment – Where will you stand? Can they see and hear you? How will they be seated? N eeds - What does your audience need to get from the presentation and what do you need to get. C ustomized - Customize your presentation based on the information you have gather ed about your audience E xpectations - What expectations does your audience have from this presentation. How can you meet these expectations? Once you have the answers to these questions, you can begin to write the outline of your seminar. Then you can look into the tools and techniquest for delivery. Always start with the audience first. To your success, Ellen For further information, check out my blog at www.mypublicspeakingskills.com/talkinpoints |
