Talking about entertaining the audience, I have recently come up with a new idea. I want to put a "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" game (which has my own questions in the game) at the end of my presentations to replace a boring summary.
So I developed the create your own Who Wants to be a Millionaire flash game and make it free for everyone to use. Hopefully, it will suit your presentations too. |

What a great idea. Please let me see what you've created when it's ready.

As for any personal interaction - some simple quick preparation can help:
Topical subjects linked to your audience (they are king) / location. How can you involve them does have risks. If they are a large number, you can always invite interaction in the break before your session. Either through your own questioning over coffee - to what they would like asked - or a topic they would like explored. Or leave some postcards with the food. You may get some silly / anon / serious questions. Sorting these out - and responding to them can make an entertaining and serious session, but more importantly it shows that you have "really" involved the audience. Regards Steve

I agree with all the points made so far. One key thing I would like to add is that you should always try your best to keep up the energy level in the room. Try to ask questions that would get everybody involved. You could even direct your audience to interact with each other. For instance, you could ask your audience to repeat a word you said to the people around them. You could also ask your audience to “hi-5” the people beside them after they have done an exercise.
Make sure there is a lot of clippings and round of applause for people who have participated to keep up the energy level in the room. You could also download some fun training tools to assist you in getting more audience participation. Remember, whenever you do a presentation, it is not about you. It is about your audience. Everyone is thinking about “what’s in it for me” and not “what’s in it for you”. Get them engaged!

Hi,
Thanks for sharing the useful information. Flipping through the pages of books or surfing through the nets one will come across innumerable definitions about the professionals and their required qualifications. The same is also the case of the motivational speakers. Everyone however agrees on one point that it requires skill development to become sales professional or motivational speaker. Success in business requires a judicious blend of the two qualities.
