The Art of Persuasive Speaking
Politics is marketing, no matter how you look at it. I enjoyed listening to this interview with Terri Sjodin. |

Agreed - it's a nice, short segment. (Apart from the interviewer!) It must have been nerve-wracking for her to do her own presentations - because being able to train people in presentations and public speaking doesn't always mean you can deliver them yourself!

All the great tennis players have coaches.... but the coaches can't play as well as the people they coach....

Hey Josh,
Thank you for sharing this clip. What I found very interesting is the distinction that Terri made between presenting persuasively versus presenting merely to inform. I appreciated this distinction and will try to evaluate my presentations so see if I'm being persuasive or only informative. I also appreciated her reminder that presentation is such a critical part of sales. I have made a note to remind myself of this often so the next time I present I remember how critical it is and that I don't take it lightly or lazily by trying to "fly by the seat of my pants." |
