Hi Members,
I have a Wordpress site and have seen a big increase in pingpacks lately requiring moderation in the comments section and have a question. I can spot and trash the spammers no problem and comments that ad value to my articles are most appreciated but how much value do pingbacks actually give me when they don't ad anything to my posts ?. Most of them obviously just ping back the first couple of sentences of my articles and come from other sites which on the surface look ok but what do they actually do for my site/articles value?. thanks |

Hi,
Pingbacks are only useful for traffic - if you one of google's blogs from example or techcrunch - you do have a chance of getting some traffic. Regarding juice, I think they hold little value because they can be easily abused! Thanks, artist portfolios |

Hi
Ping back is a method for web authors to request notification when somebody links to one of their documents. Typically, web publishing software will automatically inform the relevant parties on behalf of the user, allowing for the possibility of automatically creating links to referring documents. For example, Alice writes an interesting article on her Web log. Bob then reads this article and comments about it, linking back to Alice's original post. Using pingback, Bob's software can automatically notify Alice that her post has been linked to, and Alice's software can then include this information on her site. Thanks Criminal Lawyers in Toronto |
