Hey Josh and Bob!
I found and watched all 12 videos on article marketing on Saturday. All of the videos were full of GREAT and LOGICAL information! After learning about article marketing while attending and Internet Marketing Clinic put on by a local SBA, I have been using article marketing for about six or seven months. I have been submitting my articles to Article Marketer as well as Isnare. In addition, the articles are hosted on my website. The SBA has taught to link the articles hosted on your site to the products and product categories. As far as the submission services are concerned, one link from the author box goes to the written article on the website and the other to the article category. With this, the page rank will flow downward to your products. The thought is that the products will rank in the organic rankings from the power of the articles and the article categories. Your thoughts? Here are my linking questions: - Where do you suggest pointing the links available to you in the author's box? - For the articles on my website, how many keyword phrases should I be linking off of these pages? I look forward to your responses. |

Hi Golfnut282:
Thank you for your comment about the videos. I'm glad you found them helpful. With respect to your questions, here are my thoughts. I've always found it best to create the most direct link possible from what I'm writing about on my site to the the product or service I'm selling on my site. If I'm writing about a product category, I'll link to that product category page. If I'm writing about a specific product, I'll link directly to that product page. If I'm writing an article for syndication, I will try to create one link to the home page of my site (not always however) and a second link directly to the landing page of the product or service I'm writing about. I want to give my reader the opportunity to go directly to the product page ASAP if they choose to do so, and I want to create a link to my homepage to move my site up in the SE's. With respect to how many keyword phrases you should have linking off of the articles on your own page, Google sets a limit of 100. I would create a natural amount of links for each article. I can't imagine having more that 4 or 5 for a 700 word article. (certainly there are exceptions based on your site.) Does that answer your question? Aloha, Bob
