Does Google Know About My Website?

Can Google users find my website?

So you just created, or had a website created and you want to know if Google searchers can find it. What would the point of having a website be if you don't have any viewers? Here is what you do:
Well the only way Google searchers will find your website is if your website is listed in Google's search index. So let's cut to the chase and find out if any of our web pages are included in Google's index.
1) Go to GoogleInterpreting The Results
2) Do a search for "site:YOURWEBSITE.com" without the quotes. So if your website was http://www.recognizedexpert.com you would search Google for "site:recognizedexpert.com" (again, without the quotes.)
Now this part is easy. You will see one of two things. Results, or a "nothing found" message. If you see even one result then that means your website is included in Google's search index (results.)
Lets break down the results just a little more.

You will notice our original search in the search field, but take a look at the second arrow. What else should I be looking at?
Google is telling us that it sees 4,730,000 web pages from dell.com
Look at the list of search results. Are all of the titles the same (that would be a bad thing...)? Are only a few of your web pages listed? Are there pages listed that you did not "want" people to see?Now What?
You can really learn a lot about your website from just one simple search!
Have questions about your results? Want to improve what you see?
Ask the guys over in the Internet Marketing forum, but be sure to include your website's address so they can take a look too!
