I'm Retired and I'm Bored Part II

So, now, Sam sits on his porch with his morning cup of coffee and watches all the people going to work, the kids going to school, and all the other signs of life he feels are going on around him but not including him. One one hand, he's glad he doesn't HAVE to hit the freeways, gulping coffee and a drivethrough meal, feeding his ulcer and hoping he'll get to work on time. On the other hand, though, he misses it. At least it was going somewhere.
That's it, he says, I've GOT to find something to do before I start shaving the cat!
Back into the house he goes and gets out the local newspaper. Looking at the want ads, all the jobs listed want entry level people or are in fields he knows nothing about. He mutters under his breath as he tosses the paper aside and stands up. Telling his wife he'll be back, he grabs his hat and heads down the street to the local coffee shop where he bumps into an old friend of his who retired a year before he did.
"Hey, Sam!" says his friend, Jim. "How's retirement?"
"Boring. I'm going crazy. I need something to do."
What advice should Jim give Sam? What advice would you give him?
More to come.
