Leaders Do It Their Way - R U A Leader?

I am curious, do you spend a lot of time researching and thinking about what others in your industry are up to? Are you interested in what others have? With that in mind, have you really looked to see who the leaders in your industry are? Consider for a moment that this concern over what your competition is doing (let's call it a small obsession) is exactly what these business leaders in your industry are not doing. Some checking on your competition is important but recognize that comparing creates things of like kind. Confidence to be yourself and see your vision through is what makes great leaders.
Leaders are the ones looking forward, innovating and turning their competitors into road kill. Take Quicken Loans, Starbucks, WalMart, Costco and so forth. These are business leaders not looking to others on how to do things. The only time the business world really gets changed and earns an entrepreneur stratospheric profits is when something is done dramatically different. So... how do you do this - stay tuned.
