Be A Real Living, Breathing Human Being

Posted 10-23-2008 at 02:48 AM by Bob Sommers
One of the best ways to build credibility with your audience is to show them that you're a real, living, breathing human being ... not just a name on their email list.

People like working with people, not auto-responder programs. Let me encourage you to do everything in your power to give your digital audience an opportunity to get to know you as a person.

I just finished interviewing a very bright young man today by the name of Jason Fladlien. He is the author of How to Write an Article in 7 Minutes and it's a fantastic product and a steal at $27.

You're certainly going to hear a lot more about Jason on Recognized Expert because I believe in what he's doing and the value he provides his customers and the members of Recognized Expert.

It just so happened that I received an auto-responder from Jason (after signing up for his newsletter) that I have never seen anyone else produce. He sent me an email about himself.

Now before you go off on all the reasons why your customers would not be interested in reading about you, take a moment to read Jason's profile and let me know what you think. You can find the link to his profile below.

I'll tell you what I think. I think Jason is a real, living, breathing human being that I would like to do business with. His email created a bridge between us that did not exist before. It created a bridge that I do not have with any of the dozens of others who send me their newsletters.

I can not encourage you strongly enough to follow Jason's lead. It will make a world of difference in your relationship with your customers.

Here's the email Jason sent me about himself along with my own personal profile. Notice how different both of our "About Me" pages are from the typical business resume. People want to connect with people, not flawlessly perfect human beings.

If you know of any other profile pages that are unique and different, please make a note of them here.
